The DPOF has meant the world to my sister and I. In the darkest times of our lives, knowing we would be be given the opportunity to pursue our education was a light at the end of the tunnel. Knowing the amount of pressure this took off our mom, that alone was a gift. This allowed us to focus on each other and our family’s healing.
Without the DPOF, I’m not sure where either of our futures would have landed. I went on to pursue sociology and carry on a little bit of my dads law enforcement background. My sister is currently in grad school pursuing a career to help others in speech and language!
